As a company that lives and breathes technology, it is a step that underscores our dedication to our company values rooted in championing equity and justice, and our commitment to collaborating with companies that are also guided by these principles.
Why did we make this commitment, and why is it crucial?
We understand that expressing support for ‘social good’ or ‘progressive causes’ lacks substance without specific actions. At Firefly, we don’t just pay lip service to ideals; we actively embody them. By taking this pledge we’re taking a proactive stance, transparently informing our clients and partners about our non-negotiables on critical issues that impact us all.
Today, technology can unfortunately serve as a conduit for the dissemination of hate speech, which fosters discrimination. With PledgeNoHate.tech, we’re unequivocally stating that we refuse to collaborate with any nonprofits, agencies, vendors, or businesses that violate the civil liberties of others.
This is also our way to advocate for partnerships that resonate with Firefly’s values, in particular:
- Promotion of Inclusivity: This movement advocates for platforms and companies that prioritize inclusivity in their operations. By joining, we’re reflecting that we prioritize creating online environments that welcome individuals from all backgrounds without discrimination.
- Respect for Civil Liberties: Upholding civil liberties is a cornerstone of this initiative. Member companies promise to not just respect, but also safeguard the civil rights of all.
- Transparency and Accountability: This is a group that is committed to transparency. We promise to hold ourselves and each other accountable for upholding values of inclusion and equity.
